Third Screen Media, the Boston-based provider of mobile advertising and marketing software and services, announced that they have completed a $3 million round of venture capital funding led by TD Capital Ventures of Boston with participation from Blue Chip Venture Company of Cincinnati, OH.
“Rapid changes in the advertising marketplace have created a strong focus on wireless media buying and planning,” said Third Screen Media CEO Tom Burgess. “This funding will accelerate development and deployment of our already proven ad serving and text messaging technologies that help optimize planning, buying and campaign reporting capabilities for agencies and brands. It will also give us the chance to market and sell the largest mobile media network in the industry.”
The funding will help the company optimize mobile media inventory available to agencies, leveraging existing relationships with content publishers CBS Sportsline, TV Guide, MSN and USA Today, among others, while allowing the company to pursue new relationships with additional content providers. The funding will also contribute to product expansion, sales and marketing efforts.
This is in addition to another $5 million round of venture capital led by TD Capital Ventures, with additional funding by Blue Chip Venture Company announced back in February on the company blog. That round was to support sales and marketing efforts to bring the company’s market enabling MADX mobile ad delivery platform to publishers, carriers, brands and advertising agencies in the growing mobile advertising market.
