With sufficient funding, we hope to document this project for research + publishing purposes (as well as keeping track on our blog, of course!).

Are you interested in getting involved ;)

I think that is an excellent approach - have the participants take ownership of the environment. Are you planning on documenting the progress of the project externally (on your blog, website, etc.)?

I think what's novel about our approach is that we're linking between real and virtual from the bottom-up rather than top-down. Practically speaking, instead of building facades of famous Boston landmarks and expecting people to show up, we want participants to build a functioning space in Second Life that conveys the lived-in places of Boston, not symbols. Would love your and readers' feedback on this if you have any thoughts!

"If you are a local developer and love online games, do not miss their recruiting party next Thursday." Whoops, I think you're referring to the Boston area recruiting party we had a couple months ago. If you follow the link you posted, you'll see that's an application for the recruiting party we're having next week in Brighton, UK. ;)
