Somerville’s Dataupia Raises $15M

Dataupia

Somerville based Dataupia has raised $15M in initial funding from the likes of Polaris Venture Partners and Valhalla Partners of Vienna, Va.

The overly tech-buzz-word filled homepage of the company states that they will “change the way the industry thinks of enterprise computing data management, while setting new standards in ease-of-use, total cost of ownership, and scalability.”

The Boston Business Journal suspects that they may be building a next-generation data warehousing application.

We’ll get to the bottom of it but it could be another entrant into the “data warehousing for SMB space” which is getting hot in the area. I can guess the name comes from the concept that all of your data will live in peace & harmony on an open-source server!

Looks like a good start on the surface and we wish them good luck.
