StyleFeeder.com Opens Up Their API for Developers

StyleFeeder.com, a social shopping site that I have covered numerous times in the past, announced open access to a developer API today. The new open API initiative allows social media developers to create third-party applications, widgets and basically pull all of StyleFeeder’s key functionality into their own sites.

I’m glad to see that they are doing very well and continuing on their activity to open their functionality to other sites and networks. StyleFeeder secured $2 million in series A financing from Highland Capital Partners and Schooner Capital last October and reports an estimated four million page views and over 800,000 unique visitors per month…Not too shabby for any new start-up! StyleFeeder also reports that they are the largest shopping application on Facebook with more than one million installs.

Things that you can incorporate from their API include a version of their personalized search engine, bookmarking tools, item recommendations, watchlist (connecting users with similar styles), StyleFeed (bookmark gallery of your added items), StyleTwins (people with similar taste) and more.

You can find more about their open API initiative on their Developer’s Page.
