Bedford’s Mobile Service Provider bcgi Sold for $65M

Just got the announcement that a local mobile outifit is being scooped up for $65M in cash.  The move comes after the company announce a 30% reduction of it’s domestic workforce in March.

Comcast to Add 400 New Jobs in New England Market

2.1 BILLON Dollars – EMC Agrees to Acquire RSA

Not exactly a web technology or start-ups but it is big news anyway. Local technology giant EMC (Hopkinton) has agreed to acquire Bedford-based RSA for 2.1 BILLION dollars. I just love the sound of the $2.1 BILLION dollars. The deal amounts to about $28 Dollars per share for RSA stakeholders.

German Linux Firm Moving to Bedford, MA

The Boston Business Journal is reporting that German Linux firm, Collax Inc. is moving it’s corporate headquarters to Bedford. The company develops open source business service including an Exchange alternative.
This is a good development for building the Open-Source community here in the Boston Area.
