LibraryThing.com, out of Portland, ME, is a social networking that connects like-minded bibliophiles and connects them through their book collection.

In this online nerd paradise, users can create a simple list of the books they own by either inputting them in manually or searching through catalog of books that other users have listed. The site will then provide you with recommendation for other books based on the collections of users who own the same books (I can already see the dating angle for this website).

The sites design is a bit lacking but is incredible easy to use and, most importantly, is very intuitive. LibraryThing.com has been operation for over 10 months now and has a collection of over 3 Million titles from 47,000 registered users.

Besides the obvious affiliate programs through Amazon and other online retailers the site will generate revenue by charging $25 for a lifetime membership for users who have more than 200 books in their online collection.
