Local Web Apps Merge - TopTepSources Acquires StyleFeeder
Posted by David under Cambridge , Mergers & Acquisitions , Start-Up , Tech , Watertown , Web 2.0Cambridge based TopTenSources acquires Watertown based social shopping site Style Feeder according to TechCrunch. No details of the acquisition have been released (maybe in a morning release).
TopTenSources is a human edited best of the blogs on various topics. Style Feeder is a social shopping site where users can create a “wish list” of items from around the web and search the lists of other users.
It might seem to be a strange couple on the surface, however the social shopping concept is an excellent one. Good luck to the 2 local web apps. More details to follow.

I totally agree. I’ve used del.icio.us for marking down things that I like… with a tag like tobuy or wishlist… but it’s not ideal. StyleFeeder seems to have a ton of potential. Not only can it grab from everywhere, but it’s also portable (you can post a widget of your wishlist anywhere).

I’m sure it is stated but the behind-the-scenes marketing data that the can captured will be very valuable.
