Just got the announcement that a local mobile outifit is being scooped up for $65M in cash. The move comes after the company announce a 30% reduction of it’s domestic workforce in March.
Indian firm Megasoft will acquire Boston Communications Group, Inc., for $3.60 per share of bcgi common stock, in cash, for an expected aggregate purchase price of approximately $65 million. The $3.60 per share price represents a premium of approximately 120 percent over bcgi’s average closing share price during the 30 days ended July 6, 2007.
Founded in 1988 and listed on the NASDAQ, bcgi was an early entrant in providing servies to wireless and MVNO space. Based on the description of Megasoft (no relation to any large robots currently on the big screen), they appear to be an intellectual property shop that provides telco services under the Xius brand name.
I may have just been looking to include something about the Transformers on the site and jumped at name of the acquiring company. On that note…I did not notice it when I was 12 and watching the show but is Megatron packing serious heat? Megatron…what ya’ gonna do with all that junk?
