IDG Ventures Atlantic changed their name today to Flybridge Capital Partners and announced new pile of cash for the taking.  Jon Karlen from IDG (excuse me Flybridge) emailed me the details just as I was reading the good news.  Congratulations to Jon and the rest of the team.

flybridge_logo Flybridge Capital Partners focuses their investments on early-stage consumer, healthcare and information technology companies.  As part of the name change announcement, they also announced that they have added $280 million fund to their fund. This brings the firm’s total capital under management to $560 million.

Flybridge has made some great investments in the mobile and online space.  Here is a sampling of their investments from their consumer portfolio.

  • Blackwave (Acton)
  • BzzAgent (Boston)
  • Go2Media (Boston)
  • GuildCafe (Cambridge)
  • Jingle Networks
  • Mall Networks (Lexington)
  • MOBIVOX (Cambridge & Montréal)
  • SimpleTuition (Newton)
  • Transpera
  • ZING

    Congrats!

sentitosentitO (I assume the capitalized “O” is significant for something), the Acton based provider of voice gateway and signaling solutions for the telco space announced a $6 million financing round led by Columbus Nova Capital, an affiliate of Russian-based RENOVA Group of Companies, and previous investors Core Capital Partners, Inflection Point Ventures, Kodiak Venture Partners, Mid-Atlantic Venture Funds, and Technology Venture Partners also participating (that is quite a long list).

sentitO will use the funding to expand its global sales and marketing efforts and further build out its services capabilities to support large scale deployments specifically in Western and Eastern Europe; including Russia.
